Contains photographs of the following organization and military unit: Civilian Conservation Corps; 31st Infantry Regiment. General description of the collection: The Lloyd R. Moses photograph collection consists of three large albums and four boxes spanning the military career of Major General Lloyd R. Moses. Volume 1 contains photos of his childhood and high school years, followed by Citizens' Military Training Camp (CMTC) training at Fort Snelling, Minnesota, in 1924 and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of South Dakota at Vermillion. After graduation, Moses served with the Minnesota District Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) from 1934-1937. Volume 2 covers Moses' service during WWII. Moses was a full colonel pulling mostly staff assignments. He did go through airborne jump school at Fort Benning, Georgia, during that time and there are a few photos to document that experience. Volume 3 contains photos when he was posted to Japan following the war. Box 4 contains photos during the Korean War when Moses commanded the 31st Infantry Regiment. The remainder of the collection covers the period until his retirement in 1958 as major general.
